The 9 mg/ml (1,000 ml) Sodium Chloride solution is a 0.9% normal saline solution, representing one of the most fundamental, critical, and high-volume large-volume parenteral (LVP) products in medical practice. The Clinical Center of Children's Medicine is procuring this batch primarily for pediatric clinical applications, including fluid resuscitation, medication dilution, and surgical irrigation. As a medical and logistical hub in western Ukraine, the center not only handles routine pediatric care but also undertakes the treatment of wounded or conflict-affected children evacuated from front-line regions. Consequently, the demand for medical sodium chloride infusions has surged in Ukraine. Meanwhile, wartime disruptions have led to supply shortages and elevated prices. This procurement totals 76,271.03 Ukrainian Hryvnias (excluding VAT) for 1,000 bottles, averaging $1.80 per bottle-a figure significantly higher than pre-war levels.

In contrast, the market price for 9 mg/ml (1,000 ml) sodium chloride infusion in China is approximately $0.90 per bottle. Chinese manufacturing leverages internationally advanced BFS (Blow-Fill-Seal) three-in-one sterile technology and highly automated production lines, achieving annual capacities scaling in the hundreds of millions to billions of units (bottles/bags). Backed by a robust rail freight network, the China-Europe Railway Express can deliver goods to Europe in just over ten days, and utilizing local warehousing in Poland ensures a stable and reliable supply chain.
