Sodium carbonate is produced by thermal decomposition of sodium bicarbonate, yielding porous sodium carbonate used to neutralize acidic pollutants in the flue gas such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen fluoride. The sodium bicarbonate must have a purity above 98%, a bulk density of 0.7–1.3 kg/dm³, and D90 < 20–35 µm; otherwise the required deacidification efficiency limits cannot be met. Within the temperature range of 120–165 °C, the deacidification efficiency can reach over 98%, provided a sufficient reaction residence time is ensured.
Carbonation process for soda ash production
The carbonation process is the mainstream industrial synthesis route. Its advantages lie in product purity, customizable particle size (directly compatible with injection systems), the best batch-to-batch stability, the lowest impurity content, and equipment friendliness - making it well suited to continuous industrial production with high demands on specification stability.

In 2025, the top four supplying countries of sodium bicarbonate (HS 283630) exported to Poland were Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and China, with average export prices of USD 370.3, 397.5, 349.7 and 179.9 per tonne respectively - China's price being the lowest, less than 60% of Turkey's and only about half of Croatia's. This is not limited to the top four: in 2025, a total of 23 countries exported sodium bicarbonate to Poland, with an overall weighted average price of USD 402.2 per tonne. China's USD 179.9 per tonne was the lowest among all 23 countries, 55.3% below the overall average and only half that of Croatia, the second-lowest priced country. Whether compared with the top four supplying countries or with all countries worldwide exporting to Poland, China's price was the cheapest.
Qualification requirement: two supply contracts with a total delivered quantity of at least 1,000 kg within the most recent five years
China is the world's largest producer and exporter of sodium bicarbonate. Its industrial cluster is mainly located in Shandong, accounting for about 40% of global capacity and 30% of global export volume. In 2024, China's exports amounted to approximately 800,000 tonnes; in 2025, China's baking soda exports reached 1.006 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 27.2%.
We cooperate with two Chinese manufacturers: Weifang Tianpu (annual capacity 5,000 tonnes) and Shandong Haihua (annual capacity 400,000 tonnes), both of which can meet the requirement of 1,000 kg over 5 years.
Financial Guarantee Provisions
We operate our own bonded warehouse in Poland. Bulk procurement is no longer locked into the annual budget: inventory is stocked locally and drawn on demand, with funds turned over batch by batch. Goods enter the bonded warehouse upon arrival, duties and taxes are deferred, taxation applies only to actual outbound quantities, and payment is made as used - while the cumbersome export tax rebate procedure is eliminated.
