Product Grades
Food Grade
Food grade calcium hydroxide has a purity of 95% or higher, with strict limits on lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. It serves as a food additive, konjac coagulant, sugar refining agent, and in infant food formulations.
Industrial Grade
Industrial grade calcium hydroxide typically has a purity of approximately 90%, with minor impurities and ferrous speckles permitted. It is widely used for flue gas desulphurisation, wastewater treatment, pH adjustment, and architectural coatings.
Pharmaceutical Grade
Pharmaceutical-grade calcium hydroxide meets exceptionally high purity standards, with stringent controls on heavy metals and microbiological content. It is used in endodontic root canal fillings, pharmaceutical intermediates, and orthopaedic biomaterials.
Standard stock items are industrial grade. For special-grade orders, please contact us for full documentation.

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Construction Industry
In the construction industry, calcium hydroxide is widely used. It is mainly mixed with water to form lime putty (or lime mortar), which is used in masonry and plastering works. Upon drying and hardening, the slurry forms a firm coating. In addition, calcium hydroxide is often used as a soil stabilizer to improve the load-bearing performance of roadbeds (or subgrades).

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Food Industry
●Food-grade calcium hydroxide acts as an acidity regulator and coagulant for food processing.
● Dairy processing: Incorporated into milk powder to adjust pH values and provide calcium mineral sources.
● Gel foods: Applied as a coagulant for producing konjac gel, rice tofu and traditional cold jelly (liangfen).
Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Pharmaceutical Industry
● Calcium supplement raw materials: It is utilised to produce calcium lactate, calcium citrate and other calcium salt intermediates applied in dietary supplement formulations.
● Dental formulation materials: Calcium hydroxide can be processed into paste raw materials for dental formulation systems, featuring inherent antimicrobial characteristics.
● Antimicrobial formulation raw materials: It neutralises bacterial metabolic acids within formulation systems and is adopted as a raw component for antimicrobial preparation development.

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry
Calcium hydroxide is used in the production of calcium salts such as calcium carbonate, calcium chloride, and calcium sulfate. It is also used in the preparation of bleaching powder; when reacted with chlorine gas, it generates calcium hypochlorite, which is used for disinfection purposes.
Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Polymer Industry
Calcium hydroxide serves as a flame-retardant filler in polymeric materials, effectively improving their thermal stability.

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Water Treatment Industry
In wastewater treatment, calcium hydroxide can neutralize free acids and acidic salts. Its hydroxide ions react with metal ions to form insoluble precipitates, while simultaneously adjusting the wastewater pH to alkaline levels, thereby promoting the precipitation of metal hydroxides.
Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Agriculture
In agricultural applications, calcium hydroxide serves as a soil amendment to neutralize soil acidity and improve overall soil structure.

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Rubber Industry
Calcium hydroxide is used in rubber processing to facilitate molding, improve product hardness, and increase product volume to reduce costs.
Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Paper Industry
Calcium hydroxide is used to remove impurities from pulp, facilitate bleaching, and prevent paper deterioration.

Calcium Hydroxide Used in the Breeding Industry
Calcium hydroxide is used for disinfection and bacteriostasis in livestock farms to maintain environmental hygiene.
