In recent years, Lithuania has taken an increasingly clear position in China's chemical export map. As an EU member state, Lithuania hosts the ice-free port of Klaipeda on the Baltic coast, where cargo can be distributed by rail and road to Vilnius and Kaunas and further on to the Nordic and Central European markets. Laser and electronics, furniture and woodworking, food processing and chemical logistics keep operating steadily, maintaining stable demand for basic chemicals, while local chemical production cannot cover every category, making imports a regular practice. China serves as a key link in this supply chain. Nevertheless, only scattered impressions are available in public discussions regarding the actual volume and categories of Chinese chemical products exported to Lithuania. As a service provider for China-Lithuania chemical supply chains, we have carried out research on chemicals under our business scope and sorted out relevant China Customs data from January to September 2026, as shown in the table below.

Notes for table: Export volume is measured in kilograms. Export value refers to the total export amount (in Renminbi Yuan) for each product variety. Unit price is calculated as Export Value ÷ Export Volume. Products are sorted in descending order of export volume.

Data Interpretation

1. Looking across the report at the 20 chemical products, China's total export volume to Lithuania reached 5,958,783 kg, with a total export value of 34,213,859 RMB. Among these, 17 products exceeded 10 tons, 12 exceeded 50 tons, 10 exceeded 100 tons and 3 exceeded 500 tons, while 2 exceeded 1,000 tons.

The fact that 17 products exceeded 10 tons indicates that procurement for these chemicals relies heavily on the Chinese market. It shows that procurement costs in China are relatively low, and Chinese pricing advantages are highly evident. These products include Citric acid, Sodium carbonate (soda ash), Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), Glycine, Polyethylene, Propylene glycol, Methyl methacrylate, Formic acid, Polypropylene, Phosphoric acid, Calcium chloride, Ethyl acetate, Titanium dioxide, Lactic acid, Ethylene glycol, Monoethanolamine and Isopropyl alcohol.

In Lithuania, the applications for these products are mainly concentrated in the following sectors:

  • Glass, Construction Materials and Detergents: Sodium carbonate and caustic soda are basic inputs for glass, detergents and building materials, while calcium chloride serves de-icing, drying and water treatment, supporting Lithuania's construction and municipal needs.
  • Food and Feed Additives: Citric acid, lactic acid and glycine are used in food, beverage and feed applications, where local food processing and feed industries maintain steady demand.
  • Plastics, Coatings and Pigments: Polyethylene and polypropylene serve packaging and plastic products, while titanium dioxide, methyl methacrylate, ethylene glycol and propylene glycol go into coatings, acrylic sheets and resin formulations.
  • Metal Processing and Industrial Cleaning: Phosphoric acid, isopropyl alcohol, monoethanolamine, ethyl acetate and formic acid are used in metal surface treatment, cleaning agents and solvent-based formulations.

2. In terms of the overall report, China's total export volume to Lithuania is 5,958,783 kg, compared to a total global export volume of 11,293,426,917 kg. Lithuania's share accounts for only 0.053% of China's global exports. This demonstrates that China has ample production capacity and can sustainably supply the Lithuanian market.

FAQ

Q: How to find reliable manufacturers in the Chinese market?

A: You can absolutely find reliable manufacturers through us. We are Shanghai Dingwujin Chemical Co., Ltd., a China-Lithuania chemical trade service provider located in Shanghai, China. We possess a much deeper understanding of the pricing and quality within the Chinese chemical market than general buyers. We can provide direct procurement from source factories, chemical bidding, OEM, quality control, as well as COA and SDS services to guarantee long-term stable supply and quality.

Q: Should I choose sea freight or land transport from China to Lithuania?

A:  Lithuania has the ice-free port of Klaipeda on the Baltic coast, reachable by sea freight in about 30-38 days. By land, the China-Europe freight train enters Lithuania after transshipment at Malaszewicze in Poland, taking about 18-25 days to Vilnius and Kaunas. Booking, customs clearance and door-to-door delivery are all arranged by us in one package.

Q: Are there suppliers available who provide REACH/OR registration?

A: We have independently registered a company in Poland and provide REACH/OR registration services for trade from China to Lithuania. By empowering factories with REACH capability, we help Chinese factories that meet the tonnage threshold become compliant REACH/OR suppliers.
