In recent years, Ukraine has gained growing importance in the Central and Eastern European chemical procurement landscape. As a market where agriculture and food processing account for a relatively high proportion, it keeps expanding industrial chains including steel, construction materials, packaging and daily chemicals. However, local chemical supplies cannot fully meet such demands, making imports a regular practice. China serves as a key link in this supply chain. Nevertheless, only scattered impressions are available in public discussions regarding the actual volume and categories of Chinese chemical products exported to Ukraine. As a service provider for Sino-Ukraine chemical supply chains, we have carried out research on chemicals under our business scope and sorted out relevant China Customs data from January to September 2026, as shown in the table below.

Notes for table: Export volume is measured in kilograms. Export value refers to the total export amount (in Renminbi Yuan) for each product variety. Unit price is calculated as Export Value ÷ Export Volume. Products are sorted in descending order of export volume.

Data Interpretation
1. Looking across the report at the 37 chemical products, China's total export volume to Ukraine reached 23,307,535 kg, with a total export value of 135,384,355 RMB. Among these, 27 products exceeded 10 tons, 18 exceeded 50 tons, 12 exceeded 100 tons, 8 exceeded 500 tons, and 5 exceeded 1,000 tons.
The fact that 27 products exceeded 10 tons indicates that procurement for these chemicals relies heavily on the Chinese market. It shows that procurement costs in China are relatively low, and Chinese pricing advantages are highly evident. These products include Citric acid, Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Propylene glycol, Monoethanolamine, Calcium chloride, Formic acid, Lactic acid, Phosphoric acid, Melamine, Ammonium chloride, Oxalic acid, 1,6-Hexanediol, Polyacrylamide, Sodium carbonate (soda ash), Ethylene glycol, White oil (liquid paraffin), Maltodextrin, Titanium dioxide, Phenolic resin, Ethyl PG-acetal levulinate, Ethyl acetate, Isopropyl alcohol, Zinc oxide, Methyl methacrylate and N,N-Dimethylformamide.
In Ukraine, the applications for these products are mainly concentrated in the following sectors:
- Food Processing and Beverages: This is the sector with the strongest import absorption capacity in Ukraine, requiring citric acid, lactic acid, maltodextrin and sucralose.
- Plastics, Packaging and Construction Materials: This sector is directly linked to Ukraine's industrial base, requiring polypropylene, polyethylene, melamine, phenolic resin and titanium dioxide.
- Agriculture, Water Treatment and Fine Chemicals: Agriculture is a pillar industry of Ukraine, requiring phosphoric acid, ammonium chloride, polyacrylamide and monoethanolamine.
- Daily Chemicals, Leather and Other Industries: These industries require caustic soda, propylene glycol, formic acid, white oil and glycerol.
2. In terms of the overall report, China's total export volume to Ukraine is 23,307,535 kg, compared to a total global export volume of 15,561,838,278 kg. Ukraine's share accounts for only 0.150% of China's global exports. This demonstrates that China has ample production capacity and can sustainably supply the Ukrainian market.
FAQ
Q: How to find reliable manufacturers in the Chinese market?
A: You can absolutely find reliable manufacturers through us. We are Shanghai Dingwujin Chemical Co., Ltd., a China-Ukraine chemical trade service provider located in Shanghai, China. We possess a much deeper understanding of the pricing and quality within the Chinese chemical market than general buyers. We can provide direct procurement from source factories, chemical bidding, OEM, quality control, as well as COA and SDS services to guarantee long-term stable supply and quality.
Q: Should I choose sea freight or land transport from China to Ukraine?
A: Sea freight can reach the Black Sea port of Odesa directly, taking 35-50 days in total. By land, the China-Europe freight train reaches Lviv and Kyiv via Malaszewicze, Poland, taking about 18-25 days in total, which is the main option for bulk and high-value cargo; a road service via the Ukraine-Poland border crossing takes about 15-22 days. Booking, customs clearance and door-to-door delivery are all arranged by us in one package.
Q: Are there suppliers available who provide pre-registration services?
A: Yes. Ukraine's Technical Regulation on the Safety of Chemical Products requires substances placed on the Ukrainian market at 1 tonne or more per year to be pre-registered by 26 January 2027 in order to benefit from the transitional registration deadlines. Our company in Ukraine is currently being registered and will act as your authorised representative to complete pre-registration and follow-up national registration, helping Chinese factories that meet the tonnage threshold and complete pre-registration to supply the Ukrainian market in full compliance.
